Dr. Vilma C Fabré
Vilma Fabré graduated from the University of Alabama in School of Medicine in Birmingham and holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Emory University (Phi Beta Kappa), Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine (Board Certified) at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Medical Center. Dr. Fabré went on to complete a residency training in Dermatology at the University of Louisville Health Science Center followed by a fellowship in Dermatopathology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Medical Center. Dr. Fabré is a Diplomat (board certified) of the American Board of Dermatology and is board certified in Dermatopathology by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology.
In 1996, she established her own laboratory, Dermatopathology Consultants, which specializes in the microscopic analysis and interpretation of skin disease and of skin tumors from specimens and consultations referred by dermatologists and other specialties throughout the Louisville metropolitan area, as well as the state and surrounding region. Dr. Fabre previously has a previous academic affiliation with the Division of Dermatology at the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center as a Clinical Assistant Professor (instructor in dermatopathology). Dr. Fabré performs volunteer work as a dermatopathologist and assists as an interpreter (fluent in Spanish) at the Mercy Medical Clinic (Shelbyville) and The Family Community Clinic Inc. (Louisville).
Dr. Andrea S. Burch
Dr. Burch completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Hawaii, Manoa (BA Biology, with distinction, 1995), and is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine (2001) Summa Cum Laude. She completed a Dermatology residency and Dermatopathology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota (2001-2006). She is board certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and in Dermatopathology by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology.
Dr. Burch has practiced dermatopathology with Dermatopathology Consultants since her return to the Louisville area in 2006. She is actively involved in the local dermatology community and is former president of the Kentucky Dermatologic Association. She is a member of the volunteer clinical faculty in the division of Dermatology at the University of Louisville and participates in Dermatopathology resident education. Dr. Burch supervises the resident dermatology clinic at the Robley Rex Veterans Administration Medical Center and previously served in the same capacity at the Park DuValle Medical center.
